Hair Raiser 2010
Did you know that one in three women will be diagnosed with cancer in her lifetime and nearly 65% of women regard hair loss as the single worst thing related to cancer treatment? The Cancer Center of the Rockies has teamed up with Poudre School District & the ACE Program in a community service project called Hair Raiser! This event is a non-profit event that collects hair to make wigs for cancer patients. Each person participating has a story to tell or person they are honoring. In our inaugural event, we raised over 4,000 inches of hair which made 93 wigs. We were totally excited that over 100 people donated at least 8” of hair. Students in Poudre School Districts Alternative Cooperative Education Program (ACE) will be learning first hand the skills needed to be successful in the community by working before, during and after the event. Prior to the event, students who participate in ACE from all five high schools will distribute posters throughout the community. On the day of the event, students will run concessions, assist participants, and will help distribute the before and after pictures to mark the donor’s generous donation. The photos will be printed on printers donated by Hewlett-Packard. Following the event, students will distribute thank-you notes to community participants and donors. Our event is truly a community event and is the key to our success. We are currently working to get every school involved at some level in this amazing project. The event specifics are:

Yearbook Pictures Needed
Hello parents, teachers, volunteers and school staff! My name is Eliz Oppenheimer and I have helped create the Bacon yearbook for the past couple of years. I will be creating it again this year along with help from Sarah Zacher. I would like to enlist your help. I am in desperate need of photos for the yearbook for this year. If you've taken photos of any Bacon classroom function or school activility please send them to me. I can accept them by email (oppy6@q.com), disc, flash drive or actual photo. (These items will be returned to you.) Kim Sterkel, the Bacon media specialist, has set up a drop folder on the server for those who have access. It is on the main server under Special Projects labeled 2009-2010 yearbook. Thank you for your help in creating, once again, a great yearbook for Bacon students.

There are very few of them and they need YOUR help...
- arrive at 8:30 to pick up vest and sign
